How It All Began...

So I looked through my food photos and found the very first one I took (pretty much)...

This is a Ranch burger (beef, onions, mushrooms, melted cheese....) and it's from one of my favourite restaurants - Smith & Westerns! There's only about four of them and one of them happens to be right next to my work. No, it's not somewhere that you can pop in for a quick lunch as you need to take your time to appreciate the goodness :-) It's got a cowboy theme and so it's quite a noisy place with all that country music.

Nice cocktails though - I went there with an old workmate ages ago and I remember vividly that I could not finish my steak because I got too drunk - I was devastated! Very disappointed in myself (at not being able to finish, not because of the alcohol consumption). We happily sipped two jugfuls worth of cocktails between us so it's a wonder we got out of there still standing! Though I recall we did lie down on a field afterwards to mellow out.

I'm planning to go there again in a month for my birthday meal. I can't wait, looking at that burger now is making me hungry...

It just looked so beautiful, I had to take a picture!

And that's how it all began.

Beanz Meanz...Hunger

I hate getting into a routine of what I eat at dinner but every Tuesday evening is the same.

Beans on toast.

No, I don't just happen to have a timely urge for this delight on a weekly basis! It's the only thing that I can eat that will remotely satisfy my hungry self before heading off to a weekly 2 hour session of Aikido.

Not that I resent practising Aikido at all for this, by the way! I would just never dare go to a class on a full stomach...

A bit about Hungry Jenny

I like eating.

Actually, I LOVE eating. So much that I automatically snap a picture of nice food before I devour it in a lady-like manner. I thought this was quite normal - who wouldn't want to remember the lovely meals that they have eaten?

I'm not sure how I'm going to do this but I have a backlog of over 80 photos of food that I want to post up. If food is on my mind all the time, why not blog about it eh?

Recently I dropped all my digital photos of food into one folder (as you do) and someone told me that I was weird when I proudly showed them off.

Weird?

It's funny cos when you look at your own photos, it brings back those happy memories because you've captured a moment. Well I've captured FOOD.
