Ok, is it just me who thinks burritoes are a little bit weird? I tried one for the first time the other day:This was at Las Iguanas, a colourful and wonderfully upbeat Latin American restaurant. Although it was described as a stuffed tortilla parcel with rice, I still felt really confused when it showed up...
Rice in a wrap? Who'da thunk it?
Now, how are you supposed to eat the damn thing? I picked it up, but after a few bites and stern looks from my boyfriend, I put it back down and made use of my knife and fork instead. The filling of coriander rice with beef and mushrooms was wonderfully soft and flavoursome- but I really just couldn't get my head around the whole rice in a wrap thing. The whole thing just started to fall apart as I ate it. I clearly didn't have the culinary knack to eat this little donkey. I've never mastered the art of putting a fajita together either but that's another story.
Now the 'totopos' - that's something I got on with extremely well!

Just spent some time on your blog and want to let you know I totally enjoyed it. Your photos are great and your content was entertaining—just the kind of blog I enjoy visiting. Keep up the great work! By the way I adore England! I was a chef in a pub near Leicester a few years ago and really miss the lovely people and beautiful landscapes.
Hi Las Vegas
Thanks so much for your kind comments! It's nice to hear when people come back to read my blog because they enjoy it :-)
Keep eating!

Hi Hungry Jenny! I came to your blog today and read all the way back to this post - your pictures are lovely, and your writing is very funny and entertaining. :)
I have serious problems eating burritos, too! And tacos, for that matter. They just disintegrate when you bite them. There is a restaurant chain here that specializes in burritos, and thankfully they give you the option of skipping the tortilla and just having all the yummy ingredients (rice, beans, meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, etc.) in a gigantic bowl. It's great!
I've bookmarked your blog, and I'll definitely be back soon - keep posting! <3
Hi healthytastycheap!
Wow, you must be a fast reader! It's so nice to hear that you've been reading through so many of my past blog posts and enjoyed them :-)
Yeh, I like eating food that is easy to eat and doesn't just fall apart - that's just silly food.
Hope you'll continue to enjoy Hungry Jenny!
